Pinewood Derby

Haydn joined our local church sponsored scout troop just after turning eight and just in time for Pinewood Derby.

Despite knowing about it in advance it was a last minute go on his car.  He decided he wanted to decorate it as a wedge of watermelon.  Win for us that it was an easy design.

The day of the race was a lot of fun.  He didn’t win, but he enjoyed the experience.

 As for me, I spent the morning sewing patches onto his uniform.  It wasn’t my favorite.  But he did look pretty sharp.
