One by One–Ministering in the Savior’s Way

I was recently pleased to receive a copy of Elder David A. Bednar’s new book, One by One, to review.

Replete with scriptural accounts and first hand examples, Elder Bednar helps the reader to better understand the spiritual pattern of one by one as taught and demonstrated by the Savior, Jesus Christ.  Using these, he teaches that “in the work of the Lord there is no such thing as a coincidence.  The worth of souls is great in the sight of God.”

This beautifully inspired book is not meant to be read passively, but for the reader to use what is learned to grow, so as to draw closer to Christ and become a better instrument in the hands of the Lord.  At the end of each chapter are thought provoking questions to help you both recognize and discover how you can better emulate the spiritual pattern of one by one in your own life, as well as space for your own questions and scriptures that you may be reading that coincide with what you are learning.

As I read through this book, I could feel the Spirit testify of the truthfulness within it’s pages.  That the worth of souls is great in the sight of God and that I am one of those souls.  I am a one.  Falling on the heels of my calling into the Primary Presidency, this book offered sage advice for how I can best minister to all the individual ones in our Primary.  If you are looking for a book to help you better understand how the Savior taught, this book is for you.  If you are looking for a book to help you emulate the love our Savior has for others, this book is for you.  If you are looking for a book to help you identify the tender mercies of the Lord in your own life, this book is for you.  This book is for you.
