Walk with Me

As a way of carving out some one-on-one time with each of our children, we have assigned each of them a day that they get to go on a special walk with Mom and Dad.  We feel it is important to get an opportunity each week where we can have an uninterrupted conversation that is specific to each individual child.

They look forward to their day all week long, but none of them are quite as excited about it as Lenora.  She wants every day to be her day.

Walks with her are a little crazy sometimes and often RJ ends up carrying her most of the way, but I love the little detours she takes us on.

On this day we walked through a field full of dandelions.  She hard a time getting the seeds to scatter by blowing on it, so she just started waving them frantically to get them to disperse.  Immediately, she would then drop it and race to pick another.  She would pick bouquets for RJ and I and was thrilled when we’d blow on them.  She loved it so much!  For awhile I thought she might try to pick all of them.

I found such joy in watching her.

I am grateful for those moments when I get to experience the world through my child’s eyes.
